When Power Plants Need To Move Nuclear Waste, They'll Just Cart It Through Your Neighborhood In A Convoy

When nuclear fuel no longer produces enough energy to sustain reactions (but still generates radiation and heat), power plants ship the stuff off in thick containers to storage locations or research facilities. It's disconcertingly cool that the best way they've figured out how to do this involves throwing the waste on a huge truck and driving past your house.
